Skill set! what I need and What I have


CG Modeller
Essential skills

            􏰀  ability to follow design reference accurately and work in a range of styles;
            􏰀  ability to create moderate to complex and organic models;
􏰀  ability to model characters, props and environments, working to a good level of finish, if required;
􏰀  good drawing skills including use of light and shadow and a good understanding of anatomy; ­
            􏰀  good understanding of modeling with either Polygons or NURBS;
            􏰀  ability to do UV mapping;                                                                            􏰀  ability to problem solve;
            􏰀  ability to communicate with colleagues and work as part of a team;
            􏰀  ability to take direction and willingness to address comments and make changes;
􏰀  ability to work with a minimum of supervision and capacity to function as team leader, if required;
􏰀  ability to deliver on schedule, working under pressure if required;

Able to work with a different style.
Complex models are okay to be made organic is more difficult
Able to model an environment
Drawing skills not at best but on way of becoming better
Understanding Nurbs and polygons, difference between the two and what is different between poly counts
UV mapping slight part

Why
Doing/learning all of this will help me get further with CG designing, even though I have many of the skills, they all need to be changed and updated/upgraded, just so that I am always on top of the ball.
I have made many Models changing how they look and making them better over time, many changes are due to them since I don’t think they are ready to be completed yet!
Compositor CG

Essential Skills

Key Skills include:
􏰀  extensive knowledge of current compositing software such as Shake and After Effects;
            􏰀  knowledge of various other programmes including Photoshop;                􏰀  understanding of 3D animation process, particularly Lighting;
            􏰀  a good eye for composition, colour, light and shadow;
            􏰀  good knowledge of keying process;
            􏰀  methodical and thorough approach to work, and attention to detail;
            􏰀  ability to communicate with colleagues and work as part of a team;
􏰀  ability to take direction and willingness to address comments and make changes;
            􏰀  ability to work with a minimum of supervision;
            􏰀  ability to deliver on schedule, working under pressure if required;
􏰀  respect for the procedures and requirements of a particular studio, production or pipeline;

Skills Obtained

Compositing software, is a learning curve, image based and slight video manipulation
Gained Knowledge of Photo Shop, illustrator, After Effects.
Known lighting skills, different types shadow types and ways to improve the conditions.
Keen on compositing, ways to improve it/attention to detail
Able to work well in team and communicating well with direction
Critics always open to them

Why
This job is more of the after works, which is also a type of animation I would like to be apart of, since it is something that brings the animation/real footage together, many of the skills I have on Compositing is Beginner level but then again practise is all that it takes.
I have done slight jobs in working with compositing like MTV and E4, changing the real world from an image to 3D inside the image backdrop.
Junior animator

Skills obtained
The principles of animation can always be stretched but only to a limit.
Timing skills with my 3D is getting there, working on getting it all perfect.
Acting skills for the actual animation, watching other people and interpreting them is how I learn.
Think 3D, is what I do on a regular basis

Working as a trainee is the way to get to the top, even though its not the best spot, you might be able to shadow an animator or be a helping hand in making some key things, even though this role is not always the best It can become the best!
