HAND IN WEEK!!!!

Well hand in week is upon us, it is the time we all dread, 3 projects all at once. now it has to come to an end, even though it is now han din week I am still getting distracted... which is a huge burden on mine, seeing a few people do some abstract work earlier today, I wanted to do some of my own.

Evaluation of my past years

Over the past 2 years Being at newcastle college has been an experience to never forget, working on everything from drawing to 3d work has been a passion and it will never die!
since my drawing skills were not very ... well good at the start I think over the years it has improved slightly but in hindsight I do prefer 3D much more! and this is my direction, the past 2 years have shown me that I can complete work and do it in a excellent way!
I didn't think id learn so much about 3D, even though I did work harder over summer/xmas there is a lot of work that I want to complete!
Some of my best work has been completed in the final weeks of college, even though not all have been finished they are some of the best modelling I have done.
The work I like the most is the mills and the space craft, even though my work with organic models isn't going as well, the style to chose will be mechanical, the blocky side of 3D is what stands out most to me when I am modelling, the final 2 years have shown me that my dedication to work.
in conclusion, the past two years have been amazing and I wish I could stay to complete more work... if 3rd year is allowing me on then the fun continues

Plan for the last few weeks

Well College is coming to a close, and im completely bummed out about it!
no more college and no more daily routine...
for the rest of the week i will be completing my animation so I can finally make the trailer.

Also im making a trailer for my final animation instead of actually having a final complete animation!
Thursday - finish animation -set to render
friday - finish animation - set to render
weekend... prep the trailer sound etc
monday - portfolio work, complete the layout
tuesday - portfolio get confirmation  - overview of work based learning
thursday - finish portfolio, letter everything!!!!
evaluate all things on blog
friday - interview day

well this is brief but its helping!

Mech Suit

Well over the past few weeks Ive been excited about making a mech, bigg robot with bigg guns!
so here is the start and mid way through of it, still needs finishing off with modelling but so far so good with the body shape and everything, it even has a muzzle flash and rotating turrent, with excess of bullets.

Festivals

Picto Plasma
One of the biggest festivals known to all designers, Picto Plasma is a collaboration of certain peoples work, from Dude Factory to Jeff Soto. both im big fans of.
going from Berlin to New York etc it is widely known across the globe. even though this year I could not afford the trip, I have been keeping up with all the notifications on the website. considering all the different artists which are there the characters that they have come up with are so simple yet so amazing, they have given me and a lot of my friends a lot more inspiration of what they can draw like as what they should finish off.

Animex

feeling ashamed that I couldn't even go to this festival even though it was based in my hometown, Too much work going on, but the best thing is the artists and everyone else who went were still in Middlesbrough as I had my interview, so I could still have a few talk with them in private... back to the festival  they show many different pieces of work and many talks held by different animators, such as will becher, for aardman studios, and Rob Dressel who is a layout superviser for Disney.
It isn't a well known festival as it hasn't been broadcast that much, but the people who go to it are high up in the industry, an honour to meet them. the experience of working with them would be greatly accepted.
